The On Better Terms Experience
Next cohort starts September 22nd
An 8-week program to reset the commercial boundaries around your business, so you keep more of what you earn, get time back in your day and make the conversations that matter easier to have.
You've built a good business. The work's there. Your clients value what you do. Your team's busy.
So why does running it still feel harder than it should?

It's rarely one big thing that costs you. It's the little moments that barely feel commercial at all:

A project runs WAY over what you scoped, and you absorb it.

A client asks: "Can you do this one extra thing for me?" and you say, "SURE, no worries."
A long-standing client is STILL working off rates that made sense years ago.
A decision that SHOULD never have reached you, reaches you.

None of these feels significant at the time. That's exactly why none of them have been fixed. And quietly, some of the margin, time and enjoyment you should be getting from this business disappears.

They're not signs you've been doing something wrong. They're ways of working that made sense when the business was smaller, and haven't kept pace with the business you're running now.
Your business has evolved. Has the way you price, scope, delegate and work with clients evolved with it?
The answer isn't more clients...
More clients on the same terms just means more of this, faster. More projects that run over, extras absorbed and decisions routed back through you.

Before you add anything, it's worth knowing what the current terms are costing...
Run the numbers on one client:

Think about one ordinary project from the last 12 months that ran over.

  • How many extra hours went into it?
  • What would those hours have been worth at your normal rate?
  • Add the extras you never invoiced.

That’s one client. Now imagine what those little moments are adding up to across the business.

For most owners who run this exercise, the figure lands anywhere up to 30% more profit per year.
A decision that should never have reached you, reaches you.

On Better Terms helps established service-based business owners improve the commercial decisions that determine how profitable, demanding and rewarding their business is to run.

WHAT'S INVOLVED IN THE ON BETTER TERMS EXPERIENCE

We know time is tight when you’re running a business, so On Better Terms is designed around a simple rhythm.

Each week we’ll move through one part of the On Better Terms process using the practical tools, templates and guided AI resources to understand what’s happening in your business, spot patterns and start making changes.

You’ll use the group to pressure-test your thinking and challenges then decide what you'll do next, while the program is happening.

The aim is that every week something moves in your business to improve your margin, free up time or reduce the friction that keeps costing you and your team.
A decision that should never have reached you, reaches you.

  • SEE IT: Find the patterns you don't realise are costing you.
We start by looking at what’s happening across your business.

The quick yeses. The projects that run over. The client arrangements that haven’t been revisited. The work that keeps finding its way back to you. The small decisions that feel harmless in the moment but add up.

The aim is to spot the patterns, not just the individual problems, and see where money, time or energy is quietly being lost.
  • SET IT: Set your new ways of working.
Once you can see the patterns, the next step is to decide how you want things to work from here - building on what's already working and reshaping what's needed for the business you have today.

That might mean resetting your rate card. Refreshing your approach to estimating. Reviewing your sales process, scoping or customer experience. Changing how you delegate. Deciding where you’re prepared to flex and which boundaries you need to hold more firmly.

This is where you set up the way forward to support the kind of clients, work and margins you want moving forward.
  • SAY IT: Have the conversations that make the change real.
Once you’ve decided what needs to change, you need to communicate it clearly with the people it affects.

That might involve talking to your team about how things work from now on. Resetting expectations with clients. Renegotiating an arrangement. Saying no to something you would previously have absorbed. Or having a conversation with yourself about what you’re no longer prepared to carry.

And some of those conversations may uncover revenue, improve margins or create capacity that has been sitting inside the business all along.

You’ll be making the shifts that set up the next phase of growth, built on clearer expectations, stronger ways of working and a more commercial mindset.
  • STICK TO IT: Put the habits in place so the same problems don't quietly creep back in.
This is where you embed your new rhythm, replacing the patterns and behaviours that got you here with healthier habits, processes, boundaries and expectations that can hold for the long haul.

The aim is to leave with a better way of working that helps you spot the old patterns as they creep back in, and stop them from costing you again.

So the way you do business keeps working on better terms for you, your team and your clients.

Build a business that gives you more back, instead of constantly asking more from you.

On Better Terms is for you if...
You're a business owner who's:
  • built a good business, but it feels harder than it should.
  • busy, but the margins don’t always stack up.
  • absorbing too many extras and 'quick favours'.
  • growth currently looks and feels like more work.
  • certain things need to change and ready to work differently.
On Better Terms is NOT for you if...
You're a business owner who's:
  • still figuring out what you sell and who buys it.
  • looking for a plug-and-play solution.
  • not ready to change some of the ways you currently work.
  • interested in theory without implementation
